Building Bridges to the Future
Many bridges are considered works of art, others are strictly functional, bt all bridges serve an important purpose.
Imagine where we would be without the bridges that cross waterways, gorges, and other impasses! Now you will have
the opportunity to learn the basic principles of bridge construction and build a bridge or two of your own! Working
with engineers who have actually been in the bridge-building business, you will also visit historic Vicksburg, Mississippi
to see these principles applied to an actual bridge as well as in a Civil War-era riverboat. Of course, you will
enjoy all of the free-time activities available at Louisiana Tech.
