Prescott Library has Civil Service support staff positions which are filled through the Personnel Office at Louisiana Tech University.  Available positions are advertised and interested applicants must have completed the state Civil Service test required for the position.  Any interested applicant can arrange for an interview once they have been contacted by the Personnel Office notifying them they are an eligible candidate for an advertised position.  The Library must follow state Civil Service guidelines when filling Civil Service positions.

Part-Time Graduate Assistants
Graduate students in the Library assist with building security, student assistant supervision, work related to the circulation of information and Library supervision when full-time staff is not on duty. Graduate assistantships are twelve (12) month appointments which require working twenty hours per week. Applications for graduate assistantships are available at the Circulation Desk on the main floor of Prescott Library or online by clicking here.

Part-Time Student
Louisiana Tech University students who work at Prescott Memorial Library are hired using one of the two funds listed below:
1. Federal Work/Study Funds assigned by the Financial Aid Office awarded to an individual student based on information provided. Any student interested in federal work/study should contact the Financial Aid Office in Keeny Hall (Office 240). Federal work/study must be applied for each academic year.
2. Regular Funds provided from the Library budget or assigned to an individual student by other departments. Students interested in applying for regular fund positions should fill out an application in the Dean of Library Services Office or online by clicking here. If funds are available, students will be contacted for interviews.
Note: Students employed on campus must be enrolled at least half-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA to be eligible for student employment. Should a student drop below half-time or a 2.0 GPA, the student must stop work immediately. Any questions concerning student employment in the Library should be directed to Mrs. Charlotte Lee in the Dean of Library Services Office.
