Instructor Guide

Design of tutorial:

•  Consists of six modules which are self-paced and somewhat interactive
•  Each module take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete
•  Objectives are listed at beginning & end of each module
•  Short quizzes are optional at the end of each module

Using it as an assignment:

•  Faculty may assign specific modules as part of course requirement
•  At the end of each module, a short online quiz is available for use in the Blackboard environment.
•  Please contact Rebecca Brantley (ext. 2992 or brantley@latech.edu) if you would like to have her place any of the module quizzes in your course on Blackboard.
•  If you would prefer to import the quizzes into Blackboard on your own, the zip files are located below. Just click on any of the quiz titles and save the zip file to your desktop or location of your choosing.

Module 1: Starting Smart	Module 4: Finding Articles
Module 2: Choosing a Topic	Module 5: Using the Web
Module 3: Finding Books	Module 6: Citing Sources

Once you've saved the file(s) on your desktop, you can import them into the Blackboard course of your choice. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, please contact Rebecca Brantley for assistance (ext. 2992).

Getting your class started:

•  Determine which modules you'd like students to complete. View the modules from the Directory or by clicking "Return User " on the front page.
•  Determine the use of the scores. . .daily grade, extra credit, etc.
•  Set a deadline for completion of modules.
