Tickets for Tech's production of Nunsense on sale
Dr. Elizabeth Barfoot Christian

Tickets for Louisiana Tech’s theater department’s winter quarter production of Nunsense are on sale.

Nunsense, written by Dan Goggin, is a musical in a review style and will be directed by Cherrie Sciro, professor and coordinator of theater. It tells the story of Sister Julia’s accidental killing of 52 of her convent’s nuns, who contract botulism from soup she made. Without money to bury the deceased, the living sisters plan a fundraiser to bury them. The remaining five sisters plan a fundraiser in order to properly bury the rest of their convent. The audience is drawn into the misadventures of these nuns through banter and songs such as “Nunsense is Habit-Forming,” “Just a Coupl’a Sisters,” and “We’ve Got to Clean out the Freezer.”

The ensemble cast includes: Ansley Bice, of Greenwood, S.C., as the Rev. Mother; Keive Gordon, of Ty Ty, Georgia, as Sister Hubert; Jami Windham, of Shreveport, as Sister Robert Anne; Amanda Tatum, of Shreveport, as Sister Amnesia; and Payton Wilburn, of Pineville, as Sister Leo.

Nunsense performances are scheduled to run Jan. 27 – 30 and Feb. 3 – 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Stone Theatre, located in the Howard Center for the Performing Arts. The Box Office is located in the lobby of Howard Auditorium, and the hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30 – 4:45 p.m. The Box Office number is (318) 257-3942.
