A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
The School of the Performing Arts at Louisiana Tech University focuses on its mission of enhancing the cultural lives of students, faculty, staff, and surrounding communities while providing entertainment and education of the highest quality.
Recent programming highlights include:
- The Aquila Theatre Company, performing The Importance of Being Earnest
- The Messiah, performed by the North Central Masterworks Chorus
- The Band of Pride, performing at all home football games
- Pippin, 2012 Spring Musical
- Performances by Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, Odair Assad, and Spencer Myer as part of the Louisiana Tech Concert Association
The Hoop Troop continues to offer outstanding support and performances for all home basketball games.
The School of the Performing Arts brings the finest in music, theatre, and dance to Ruston through the Louisiana Tech Concert Association, the Stone Theatre, the Faculty Concert Series, and presentations by such campus ensembles as the University Choirs, the Opera Workshop, the Chamber Singers, the University Jazz Ensemble, the Percussion Ensemble, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Spring Musical. Hardly a week goes by without something exciting happening in the Howard Center for the Performing Arts. Finally, our students leave our programs of study with the skills for success firmly in their grasps.
