Musicians Health and Safety

The Department of Music strives to promote an environment condusive to the well-being of its faculty, staff, and students as they participate in music related classes and activities.

The purpose of this webpage is to outline our Health and Safety Policy and provide resources related specifically to the health and safety of musicians. 

Health and Safety Policy

In recognition of the significant impact of health and safety issues on the lives and academic activities of its faculty, staff, and students the Department of Music will communicate basic information regarding common health and safety issues related to the performance and practice of music and recommended preventive measures to its constituents through a variety of methods. The Department of Music strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for music study. The Department of Music acknowledges a responsibility to provide information and tools related to health and safety, but it is the individual that has the primary responsibility for taking preventive measures and making good choices regarding health and safety.
