BLUE FIRE: QEP Process and Key Issues
Louisiana Tech University has actively engaged its faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders in ongoing, integrated, and university-wide strategic planning and evaluation processes for the past quarter-century. This planning and evaluation process has been predicated on Louisiana Tech’s abiding commitment to high quality education and success of its students. The current strategic plan, “TECH 2020: Tomorrow’s Tech …TODAY,” is in its third iteration with four essential themes, each with relationships to student success. This strategic planning process has involved hundreds of individuals from diverse groups including academic affairs, student affairs, financial affairs, University advancement, research and development, alumni groups, student groups, and external stakeholders.
Louisiana Tech University will be recognized as a top public research university with an unparalleled integrated educational experience. The four themes are detailed as follows:
- Theme 1: Recruiting/retaining diverse undergraduate and graduate student body and university community
- Theme 2: Integrating learning, discovery, and development for an unparalleled education
- Theme 3: Elevating our research and graduate programs to national prominence
- Theme 4: Maximizing the economic impact of our innovation enterprise
