Payment Deadlines & Purge Dates for Summer and Fall Quarter 2008
Last Day to Drop/Resign with "W" grades...
The last day to drop a course with a "W" grade or resign from the University with "W" grades for Spring Quarter 2008 is Friday, April 25, 2008 at 5:00 pm.

Critical Registration Dates for Summer and Fall Quarter 2008...
NOTE 1: ONLY continuing Louisiana Tech University students (those enrolled for Spring Quarter 2008) are eligible to participate in Early Registration (Apr. 28 - May 16) for Fall. This excludes Visiting and Transient admission categories as well as newly admitted/readmitted students.
NOTE 2: New Freshmen, New Transfer Students, and New Graduate Students, admitted for Summer 2008, with a signed advising form, and an updated Registration Access Code, may register May 21-28, 2008. A Mini-Orientation Session and General Registration/Tuition & Fee Payment is available on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 for new undergraduate students (graduate students will see their advisor) to complete the initial registration and tuition/fee payment process. New students will then:
• see an advisor, obtain their BOSS PIN number (Keeny Hall 207), and complete their initial registration in the BOSS Self-Help Registration Center (Keeny Hall 207).
• complete tuition/fee payment with the Comptroller's Office (Keeny Hall 103).
• obtain their TECH ID through TECH Express (Student Center) and activate their TECH e-mail account (at the Computing Center, Basement Wyly Tower).
IMPORTANT: There are five separate and distinct sessions of classes during the Summer Quarter, with up to three sessions overlapping at any one time. Students must read their schedules carefully to ensure they start classes on the correct day, date, and time. NOTE 3: New Freshmen admitted for Fall 2008, will register during one of the New Freshmen Orientation sessions scheduled for the Summer. New Freshmen should contact Undergraduate Admissions (1-800-LATECH1) as soon as possible to sign up for an Freshmen Orientation and Registration session.
New Transfer Students admitted for Fall 2008, will register during one of the Transfer Orientation sessions scheduled for the Summer. New Transfer Students should also contact Undergraduate Admissions (1-800-LATECH1) to schedule a Transfer Orientation and Registration session.
NOTE 4: New Freshmen and Transfer Students (undergraduates) admitted for Fall 2008 and did not attend an Orientation Session during the summer - a Mini-Orientation session will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at 4:00 p.m., followed by General Registration/Tuition & Fee Payment on Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
Graduate students MUST see their advisor to complete their initial Plan of Study before proceeding with their initial registration and tuition/fee payment process.
New students will then:

Fee Payment via the "Account Summary/Fee Payment" menu option on BOSS remains "LIVE" throughout all Early, General, and Late Registration periods. All students participating in Registration must complete tuition/fee payment or must complete schedule confirmation by the assigned due date. If you do not, your schedule will be purged and you will have to complete the registration process again.
NOTE: Students who have a zero or credit balance (minus sign or "CR" indicates a credit balance) because their tuition and fees are paid by TOPS, scholarships, federal financial aid, fee waivers, or other credits must confirm their registration (actually apply the aid to their expenses). Use the "Account Summary/Fee Payment" menu option on BOSS and follow the on-screen instructions.

Each Summer Session has a separate set of dates, viewable in a table available on BOSS at URL http://www.latech.edu/registrar/racingform.shtml. The $50 late penalty does not apply during Summer Quarter. This is also known as the "no grade" Drop/Add period.
For Fall Quarter: Thursday thru Monday, September 4 - 8, 2008: A $50 late penalty applies during this period. This is also known as the "no grade" Drop/Add period.
BOSS Web Registration (menu option "Drop and Add Classes") remains "LIVE" for all eligible students through the end of the Late Registration ("no-grade" Drop/Add) period each quarter. Students attempting to drop all of their classes (resign) during this period must do so through the University Registrar's Office.
Summer Quarter 2008: BOSS Web Registration (Drop/Add Classes) will be turned off at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008.
Fall Quarter 2008: BOSS Web Registration (Drop/Add Classes) will remain active throughout the Summer Quarter 2008. This feature will be turned off at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2008 (last day of Late Registration, Drop/Add, for Fall Quarter 2008).
Credit Balance Refund Checks
For Summer Quarter: will be available in the Cashiers Office, 103 Keeny Hall, Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For Fall Quarter: will be available in the Cashiers Office, 103 Keeny Hall, Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
