Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference

Each year, Louisiana Tech University takes students to a life-changing experience, the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC).

There, students engage in meaningful personal and professional development while addressing the problems and concerns that affect the black community. The conference offers each participant an opportunity to attend workshops, hear nationally renowned speakers, and network with nearly 1,000 students, advisors, corporations and graduate institutions each January for there truly impactful days of conference activities. This conference is hosted by the students of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs will sponsor Louisiana Tech University students to attend the conference. Award recipients will be selected by the Office of Multicultural Affairs/Conference Review Committee and will be notified in writing of the scholarship award.
