Speech Language Pathology and Audiology

About us

The Department of Speech, housed in Robinson Hall,
has the largest and most competitive graduate enrollment
of any master's program in the College of Liberal Arts
and has the only doctoral program in
the College of Liberal Arts, the Doctor of Audiology.
The Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology programs are major academic components of the Department of Speech.

Louisiana Tech University has been notified that the master's program in Speech-Language Pathology and
the doctoral program in Audiology have been
reaccreditated for the maximum period
of eight years by the Council on Academic Accreditation
in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The next review is 2012.

Louisiana Tech University Annual Speech, Language, and Hearing Conference.
The Department of Speech will be hosting it's annual Speech, Langugae and Hearing conference February 5th - 6th, 2009 at Louisiana Tech University in the Student Center. Guest speakers will be Holly York, Barbara LeBlanc & Penny Hakim.

Department Honors Outstanding Graduate Students
The Department of Speech hosted a reception in Adams Parlor in May 2008 to recognize and honor its outstanding graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology for the academic year, 2007-2008.

The Graduate Academician awards for 2007-2008 were presented to Tanesha Thomas , First-Year Graduate Student in Speech-Language Pathology and Meagan Chatelain , Second-Year Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) student.  Ms. Chatelain and Ms. Thomas were presented engraved plaques of recognition for their outstanding academic performance.

The Graduate Clinician for 2007-2008 was Ms. Annie Saunders , a first-year graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology. Ms. Saunders was presented an engraved plaque in recognition of her outstanding clinical performance.
