FOLDER:001 DESCRIPTION: Paper entitled "Leary Family History," written by the great-grandson of Calvin Leary (1811-1882). William Colbert, Jr. gives an account of the journey of Leary and his family and slaves from Georgia to Bienville Parish, La., in December 1849 and January 1850. Tells of the building of their home and plantation, the crops grown, and other farm activities and family life. Miscellaneous notes include anecdotes about the Calvin Leary family and genealogical notes on the Leary and William Colbert families.
