Housing Assignments
When will I receive my assignment?
Residence Hall assignment letters are mailed mid-June. The assignment letter includes your room number, hall, telephone number, post office box number as well as your roommates contact information. The assignment letter will also tell you when you can begin checking into your room.
What if I don't have an assignment yet?
If you filled out a Housing Application but you didn't receive an assignment letter please contact Room Assignments at 318-257-4917 or housing@latech.edu. If you have not filled out a Housing Application yet you can download one from our website.
What if I don't like my assignment?
Room Changes begin two weeks after the halls open for each quarter. Thanks to our open room change policy students find it easy and convenient to change rooms. If you are unhappy with your current living situation just stop by the Housing Office and our staff will be happy to help you.
Where can I find details about each hall?
You can visit the Residential Facilities Web Page and click on the hall you wish to view. Each hall page provides a list of amenities, interior and exterior photos, sample room floor plans, a general description of the hall and a list of learning communities.
How can I contact my roommate if I decide to?
Your roommate's name, home address, and email address are on your assignment letter. It is a good idea to contact your roommate to decide who is bringing the refrigerator, television, telephone, microwave, etc. so you don't have two of everything.
