Annual Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference - Thursday, January 18 - Sunday, January 21, 2018
Each year Louisiana Tech university takes students to a life-changing experience, the Southwestern Black student Leadership Conference (SBSLC). "Students engage in meaningful personal and professional development while addressing the problems and concerns that affect the black community. The conference offers each participant an opportunity to attend workshops, hear nationally renowned speakers, and network with nearly 1,000 students, advisors, corporations and graduate institutions each January for there truly impactful days of conference activities." (SBSLC website) This conference is hosted by the students of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs will sponsor Louisiana Tech University students to attend the conference. Students must submit a conference scholarship application no later than Friday, November 17, 2017 at 4pm to the Office of Multicultural Affairs in order to be considered for this conference. Deadline is firm as space is limited.
Conference Scholarship Applications can be picked up in the Office of Multicultural Affairs in Keeny Hall Room 333 beginning Friday, October 6, 2017
Award recipients will be selected by the Office of Multicultural Affairs/Conference Review Committee and will be notified in writing of the scholarship award.
