The NLN is an admissions test for the Louisiana Tech University Nursing Department. The test is given twice a year in order to meet the deadlines set by the Nursing Department for the classes starting in the Spring (deadline March 1) and Fall (deadline November 1).
Scheduling an appointment:
- complete a registration form
- pay for the test by the registration deadlines ($80)
- make an appointment 318-257-4882
There are two test sessions available. Plan to take the test in a morning or afternoon session. The morning session will start no later than 8:15 a.m. and end at approx. 11:30 a.m. The afternoon session will start no later than 1:15 p.m. and end aprox. 4:30 p.m. No calculator is allowed on the math portion of the test.
About the test
There are 214 items, four options, multiple-choice.
Verbal: 60 items
Math: 40 items (No calculator allowed)
Science: 60 items
These three sections each have a time limit of 60 minutes. NLN recommends that an examinee wait six months before repeating the exam.
Test reports are kept electronically at he NLN for three years from the test date. Additional reports are $25 per report. To order, send written request and payment to:
