Letters of Recommendation are letters of reference written by an alumna of a sorority to her sorority's chapter at Louisiana Tech University on behalf of the potential new member. It is appropriate and highly encouraged for the potential new member to obtain her letters of recommendation, although it is not a recruitment requirement and is ultimately the responsibility of the chapter to obtain.
You can begin this process by informing friends, teachers, and relatives that you are participating in formal recruitment at Louisiana Tech University. The alumna can choose to write a personal letter of reference or to obtain a standard form from their national chapter headquarters, typically found online. Many local Alumnae Panhellenic Associations will also provide forms for women. The Louisiana Tech Panhellenic Council does not provide these forms.
Letters of Recommendation must be sent directly to indivdiual chapters and often an alumna is instructed as to where to submit her form. If a recommendation is not voluntarily sent, the chapter has the responsibilty of obtaining one. It is recommended that letters of recommendation be turned in before Recruitment begins in September.
In an effort to assist you, the Louisiana Tech Panhellenic has provided you with the contact information for recommendation letters as well as links to the national websites for each chapter (click on the chapter name for the link to their website).
