The Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership (CIL) offers a variety of career options for those interested in teaching.

Certification pathways include PK-3rd grades, 1-5th grades, middle school grades 4-8, and secondary grades 6-12.

All teacher education programs have been approved by the Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Board of Regents, and our national accreditation organization, NCATE. Our faculty takes an interest in knowing his or her advisees and in providing quality counseling as needed for all teacher education candidates.

CIL offers the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, the Master of Education program in both elementary and secondary education, and the Master of Education with Certification in Teaching Blind Students. The Master of Education leads to teacher certification while the Master of Science Degree is intended for already certified teachers. Doctorates in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership are offered through the Louisiana Education Consortium (LEC). Further information about our graduate programs is available through the College of Education's Graduate Studies Office.
