UNDERGRADUATE
DEGREE PROGRAMS
The teaching education curriculum
prepares candidates to function as teachers in a variety of
field experiences and classroom situations. Organized
programs consist of the following: Elementary, Middle,
Secondary, and K-12.
Generally, elementary teachers focus on teaching
children in grades PK-5. Middle school grades 4-8and secondary
grades 6-12.
Various school organizations may have different
configurations of these grades: however, this provides a
general overview of the interest areas.
Other
areas
of teacher education that works with all grades are the
teaching areas of Art, Music, and Health & Physical
Education. These teachers are expected to teach students in
all grades from elementary through secondary.
