We invite you to learn more about the community, buildings, staff and residents, that combine to make our department truly a place you can call home. Our diverse area provides programming and support services for a variety of students, ranging from single to married, international or American and many other descriptors.

Currently more than 3000 Techsters make our residence halls home. Many amenities characterize our residential facilities. Some of which include, air-conditioning, cable and phone access. Many of the halls feature community style bath areas. Harper and Kidd halls are suite style with a maximum of four occupants sharing a bathroom. Each resident is provided basic furniture such as, a chair, desk, chest of drawers, and standard twin size bed. All rooms have built-in closets and lavatories.

Q: Are the rooms furnished?
A: The rooms are furnished with beds, chairs and built-in closets and lavatories.

Q: Is there a curfew?
A: There is not a curfew. All residents receive an all hours key or key fob in buildings that have the new system installed to gain entrance into the residence hall. These keys or cards only allow access into the student's assigned building.

Q: Can I have opposite sex visitors?
A: Yes you may. Any opposite sex visitation must be between the hours of 12:00 PM and 12:00 AM, unless otherwise specified by Housing policy. All opposite sex guests must be escorted by the resident at all times.

Q: What do I do if I am having roommate conflict?
A: You should try to work things out with your roommate and if necessary report it to the resident assistant, who may act as a mediator. If this does not work, we do have an open room change policy, unless otherwise specified by Housing or if space does not accomodate changes.

Q: What is a resident assistant?
A: A resident assistant is a Louisiana Tech student, who has been enrolled for a minimum of one quarter and lives in the residence hall. The resident assistant builds community, provides programming, monitors rules and regulations and in general serves as a student liason.

Q: What happens if something needs to be fixed in the dorms?
A: You may contact your RA or Hall Director, or you may log into the work order program at http://138.47.24.15/.

Q: Where do I get an application?
A: You may contact the Housing Office from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Q: What can I have in my room?
A: In addition to listing allowable items, this downloadable document provides you with a great list of items to bring with you! You may contact the Housing Office directly, OR you may download and print this list.

Q: What do the buildings and rooms look like?
A: Please join us on your personal Residence Hall and room "virtual" tour.
