Admission Criteria
School of Architecture
Louisiana Tech University The following criteria are used to
select the entering class of the School of Architecture from those students admitted to
the University, or wishing to change majors within the University:
Freshmen and
Re-admits
a.)
the sum of the ACT composite and high school grade point average
(on 4.0 scale) must equal or exceed 25.5
b.)
the sum of the SAT and high school grade point average (on
4.0 scale) must equal or exceed 1062.5
Transfer and
Change of Major
a.)
the sum of the ACT composite, high school grade point average
(on 4.0 scale) and university grade point average (on 4.0
scale) must equal or exceed 27.5
b.)
the sum of the SAT, high school grade point average (on 4.0
scale) and university grade point average (on 4.0 scale) must
equal or exceed 1064.5
Pre-Architecture
and Pre-Interior Design
Students not
selected for the entering class of the School of Architecture may enroll as
pre-architecture or pre-interior design students.
Students enrolling
as pre-architecture or pre-interior design students may not take any architecture or
interior design coursework until admitted to either program. Admission to either program
will be upon satisfying the following criteria:
a.) satisfactory
completion of all required remedial coursework (099), and
b.) grade point
average exceeding 2.75 after first quarter classified as pre-architecture or pre-interior
design
Those
students who were initially classified pre-architecture or
pre-interior design and not accepted into either program after
one quarter of matriculation will be re-classified as a Basic
& Career Studies student for further academic advising
and counseling.
