Stephanie Pepper Sims Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is created by David L. Sims to honor the memory of
Stephanie Pepper Sims and benefit graduate students at Louisiana Tech.
This non-endowed scholarship will be funded by gifts given to the
Stephanie Pepper Sims Memorial Scholarship and will be awarded as long
as funds are available.
The scholarship wil be in the amount of $600 per year; awarded annually
and disbursed $200 per quarter. The scholarship shall be used to defray
the cost of tuition, or if not needed for tuition, for books or other
expenses.
Criteria
- The scholarship will be awarded to a full-time female graduate
student pursuing a Master's degree in English/College of Liberal Arts
or English/College of Education who plans to be a classroom instructor
of English grammar/composition. The recipient should have a focus or
concentration in grammar/composition or related courses within her
Master's degree.
- The recipient must be registered and remain registered as a
full-time graduate student for each quarter she receives the
scholarship.
- The recipient must have a GPA in graduate school of 3.5 or higher to receive and maintain the scholarship.
- The scholarship will be awarded by the Tech Office of
Admissions, taking into consideration recommendations made by the
scholarship committees of the College of Liberal Arts and the College
of Education.
