The Department of Social Sciences is home to Geography, Geographic Information Science, Political Science, Political Science with a Pre-Law Concentration, Sociology, and The Waggonner Center. Our disciplines study a wide range of individual, institutional, and social behavior, and provide a means of gaining intellectual approaches that will be rewarding for a lifetime as well as a degree that will lead to many exciting career options.

DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The Department of Social Sciences has two scholarships awarded in the Spring Quarter of each year.

JOHN CALDWELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
- senior rank (90 hours) at the time of the award (Fall Quarters)

JOHN K. PRICE SCHOLARSHIP
- completed 75 hours at the time of the award (Fall Quarters)

Requirements:
1. Students must be a major in one of the curriculims in the Departme of Social Sciences: Geography, Gegraphic Information Science, Political Science, Political Science-Pre-Law Concentration, or Sociology.

2. Students must be registered as a full-time student at Louisiana Tech during the quarter(s) for which the scholarship is awarded.

3. Students are required to have an overall 3.0 GPS on all official college course work.
