- At one point, Michael Moore notes that the rat population of Flint has exceeded the human population. What is this an indication of?
- The upper-class residents of Flint are affected by the plant closings, but not in the same ways as those at the bottom of the economic hierarchy. Name three scenes in the documentary when the consequences of economic inequality are evident.
- There is a graphic scene in the documentary in which a rabbit is slaughtered, skinned, and gutted. Why was this scene included? What does it symbolize?
- Do you think the people of Flint, Michigan wanted to be poor, to be laid off, and to be evicted from their homes? Did they lack motivation? Were they lazy?
- Should corporations be able to pack up and head to Mexico where they can pay workers low wages (exploit workers) and increase profits? Is profit for big business more important than social well being? Did GM owe the workers they laid off anything?
- What was this documentary really about? (aside from a GM plant closing in Flint, Michigan)
