After
graduating in 2003, I went on to teach the third grade at
Choudrant Elementary and loved every minute of it, but I
have recently taken the job that I have always wanted. I am
now recruiting for Louisiana Tech. I travel four months out
of the year and meet on a one-on-one basis with prospective
students during the remainder of the year. I love every
minute of it! I would love for you to come by the office

After transferring to Harvard junior year, I graduated and
took a job in New York City working on Wall St. at Goldman
Sachs. I am applying to law school this fall. I’m hoping to

After graduation, I lived in Chicago
for a little while, and then moved back to Texas. Once I
realized I was having a hard time finding a marketing job I
liked, I decided to look into teaching. So, I became
certified to teach in Texas and am almost finished with my
second year of teaching 5th grade in Irving (if
you get a chance, check out my class website-
www.irvingisd.net/~lcooper).
I actually just found out I won Teacher of the Year at my
school-crazy, huh?? Alison (my sister) is living with me
while she finishes graduate school (yes, I know, we are
attempting that feat AGAIN!). But, so far, so good. Overall,
everything is going very well. I miss all of the Alpha
Chi’s, but will hopefully see you soon! If you don’t know
about the Tech Alumni Gathering this Memorial Day weekend,

I
graduated in August 2001 with a B.A. in English. I worked in
the Admissions Office for about 6 months as a temporary
employee, and then I got a job with American Cancer Society
in fundraising. It wasn’t my thing so I got into teaching. I
just finished my 3rd year of teaching at Haughton
High School, and I also attend graduate school to work
toward certification and my master’s degree. I’ll be
finished in May 2006. I lived in Minden for 2 ½ years, but
in November, I moved into a house in Ruston. I was always
over here visiting so I figured I’d just move here. The
drive (45 minutes) isn’t too bad for right now. I stay
active with AXO through helping with various events. I miss
my college days very much!

I’ve been in Jacksonville for 3 years and love it. I have a
great job by the beach in Civil Engineering. I just bought
a new house so I guess I’ll be here for a while. I keep
myself busy with various organizations. I joined the Alpha
Chi Alumni Chapter in Jacksonville and have met some great
friends. I am also Recruitment Advisor for the Theta Sigma
Chapter at UNF, which I enjoy so very much. I still
continue to miss my college days and life in north
Louisiana.
