The Louisiana Tech Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council was chartered on April 11, 2006 with six of the nine organizations being active; Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternities and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was added to the Chapter on May 19, 2006.

 

Since the chartering of the Chapter, we have held our first “Pan Week,” attended the 2006 Southwestern Regional Conference, and held the Unity Step Show during Homecoming week. We also set up a “Meet the Greeks” event to inform students of the Pan and its affiliated organizations.

 

The Chapter is currently planning to have a Winter Quarter party for students who make a contribution to our canned food drive. We are also going to participate in the Toys for Tots program for the Holidays. We are also in the process of creating a Greek magazine in association with the Inter-Fraternity Council and the National Panhellenic Council to inform non-Greeks of all of the Greek organization on the Louisiana Tech campus.
