Members' meeting
Roll Taken
- Meeting called to order by Dave Rouch
- Minutes from members' meeting on October 3 read by Mark Miller
- Treasurer's Report read by Dave Rouch
- National dues have been paid for initiates
- Closing balance as of November 17 -- $534.13
Old Business
- Special thanks extended to Dr. Irby for the reception.
- Initiation went exceptionally well.
- Registration information and money sent in for initiates.
- Bill Burgess and Spencer Williams are responsible for placing recognition of initiates in
newspapers, Tech Talk and home papers.
- Home Page is up and running. Mark Miller will talk to Danny Schales about putting a
link to
the page on the Tech organizations page.
- Entering an HKN team in Intramurals is a good possibility. Matt Cifreo is responsible for
gathering information about available activities and their appropriate deadlines.
- Bulletin board is up. We will be posting the minutes from all meetings on it. Dave
suggested
we put a sign up honoring the initiates. James Weeks is responsible for placing an HKN
banner on the bulletin board.
Projects
- Bill Burgess talked with engineering faculty and decided that the athletic competition
between faculty and students was not a good idea.
- Spencer Williams is working on food drive. He is doing an outstanding job.
- Bill Burgess suggested doing a food drive in February/March.
- Resumes need to be given to Dave Rouch. He is responsible for distributing them to the
EE
faculty.
- T-shirt project needs to be started.
- Tutoring will begin again. Nethken 105 is occupied by a class on Mondays. We need to
find
a new room for tutoring. Tutoring will be from 5-7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. We
have decided to tutor EE 221, 222, 231, 311, 321, and 381. We will put our phone numbers
on the tutoring schedule (which will be posted on the bulletin board).
New Business
Fund Raiser
- Bill Burgess suggested a cookout. We discussed a gumbo or jambalaya cookout after the
Christmas holidays.
- T-shirts will probably be co-sponsored by HKN and IEEE. Themes and "catchy sayings"
were discussed.

Service Projects
- Food drive for Christmas is going well.
- Sandblast motors and rotors: Project Manager -- Glenn Moffett
- Head Start tutoring: Dave Rouch is checking on the details.
Social Activities
- We will probably have a small cookout on the day that we do the sandblasting.
- A ski trip is being planned for spring break. Mark Miller and Dave Rouch are responsible
for
collecting prices.
