Accessible Doors for People with Disabilities SGA has installed accessible doors in George T. Madison Hall and plans to install some more around campus in the future. As a service to the students on Tech's campus, SGA has provided golf cars which are used to escort students around campus at night. To use this service just call Tech Police at 4018. You can drop by the SGA and fax a local number for free. For long distance faxes, we ask that you pay $1.00 for the first minute and $0.50 for each additional minute. Tech students are welcome to come by the SGA office at anytime to pick up scantrons and pencils for free. These grants are provided by the Organizational Development Fee that the student body approved in the Spring of 2002. They can be used for any project that will benefit a University-recognized student organization or the campus community as a whole (conferences, competitions, special events, new equipment, etc). (Updated 2/3/2005) SGA provides loans up to $150 to any Tech student once a quarter as long as they meet certain requirements. The student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, cannot be a first quarter freshman or a graduating senior, and must present a student I.D., another form of identification, and an unofficial transcript. The student has one month to repay the loan. There is a $1.00 service charge on all loans. For more information regarding SGA Loans, please click here. SGA provides a student accident insurance plan for every student at Tech which is a part of tuition. A student can receive information about purchasing more compreshensive medical insurance from the SGA office. If you are a Louisiana resident, you can register to vote in the SGA office.
