The
Department of Sports Promotion is responsible for caring for and
walking the official mascot of Louisiana Tech University, Tech XIX, at
major sporting events. The Department of Sports Promotion also
coordinates "Bark Practice," or pep rallies, with Tech Spirit Groups
and the Band of Pride. "Bark Practice" is held on the Friday night
before each home football game in the Thomas Assembly Center.

The
Bulldawg Corps is an elite Tech spirit organization sponsored by the
SGA. The Bulldawg Corps supports not only Tech athletics, but also
preserves the “Spirit of ’88.” Bulldawg Corps members
represent the model Tech fan, attend most sporting events, and are
always outgoing and spirited!
The
Bulldog Corps helps promote all major athletic events through posting
signs and making announcements. They also attend all pep rallies and
football games in the Fall, as well as a set number of athletic events
in the Winter and Spring Quarters. Within the Bulldawg Corps is the
Canine Unit and “Spirit of ‘88” Team. The Canine Unit
is in charge of taking Tech XIX, our official mascot, to all athletic
events.
