CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER :( See that poster?! That’s right, THE NOTEBOOK. We’ll be showing this ultra-blazing-hot-romantica in the Plaza tonight at 7pm (Tuesday, Feb 10, 2009 for those who lost track of time due to the nice weather). So bring your suga(s) over, some blankets just in case it gets cold, and we’ll provide the rest (the rest means chicken noodle soup and hot chocolate!). If you don’t have a date, I’ve heard Union Board will be providing its good-looking and cool member, or members, to those needed. ♥

Welcome back to an exciting, and cold (very very cold) winter quarter at LA Tech. To celebrate this one-a-year freezing occasion, Union Board is pleased to present: A Winter Wonderland! (a.k.a our kick-@$$ name for the annual Christmas in the Plaza). As usual, we’re bringing to you, the community of Louisiana Tech, and also Ruston, an unforgettable event this time around.

On Tuesday night December 9, 2008, from 5pm-9pm, you should come and join us in the Centennial Plaza at Louisiana Tech University. All of our activities are free and open to the public. Some of the exciting things to do, include:

  • Christmas Karaoke
  • Gingerbread Houses
  • Build-a-Bear
  • Make your own ornaments
  • Pictures with Santa Clause
  • Hot cocoa, cookies, finger sandwiches, smores, and more
  • Christmas in the Plaza shirts for $10

Union Board annual Fall Fling event is back, and bigger than ever. We got free food for lunch. We got Tie-Die shirts for you clothings. We got Defender Dome for your adrenaline rush. And this year, for the first time on campus, we bring Speed Pitch for your need for fast flying objects (ok, object, one ball at a time please…). And as usual, we also have the big, tall, vertically-challenge rock wall for your nature fans out there. See, lotta stuff for you to do in a 4 hours break during lunch ;) Come out and see us.

You know what this mean right? Counting card lesson! In the public! With a bunch of people! ;]

On another note, if you haven’t known already, Union Board application is out and about. Apply online, or simply pick up a hard copy by the Student Activities desk in Tolliver. The due date is getting closer and closer as Thursday, Sept 18, 2008 approaching. Hurry! We want you! Yes we do :)

We love you here at Tech. No really, we do. That’s why Union Board has been working so hard to put up all these upcoming events to cater your mind and body. And by body, I meant food. Yes, nothing beats free food on college campus, you know that, we know that (note to freshmen: you’ll learn soon enough). Thus, that’s exactly what’s gonna happen this coming Monday (tomorrow as of this post).

Our annual Union Board Welcome Back, as you heard, has been moved from last Thursday to this Monday, Sept 08, 2008. We will start serving food and playing very loud music out in the Centennial Plaza from 10am-2pm, so you can’t miss it once you get on campus. Heck, you’ll hear about it once you get in your car and tune in  89.1FM KLPI. So, come out and join us when you get outta class. Bring a few friends, tell them to bring some more friends, and tell their friends to call people up and force some more to come. Yes, we’ll have enough food and drinks for y’all. And it’s all *echo* FREE! *echo*

Come by the centennial plaza to get some FREE food, FREE smores, FREE make your own bear, FREE custom wrist bands, obstacle course, picture with our famous “Santa” and enjoy the music provided by our very own Tech Band of Pride. T-shirts will be on sale for $5/each.

ps: make sure you get there early if you want the bear, they go extremely fast. Also, watch our website closely as we have stuff to giveaway very soon, and it’ll be worth it ;)

Our biggest, twice-a-year event out in the sunshine is back this coming Tuesday, September 18, 2007.

There are gonna be lotta food and games for you to enjoy in the sun (if the forecast is right of course). We also have another one of those famous Union Board T-shirt on sale ($5). The event will happen right in the center of campus (Centennial Plaza, aka the seal, aka the clock tower, aka the big area in front of Harper). You cant possibly miss it if you walk toward Tolliver or the Student Center that day.

Fall ‘07 also means that we’re getting ready to accept new members. Applications will be going out Monday, September 10th. And you will be able to either apply online here at unionboard.com, OR pick it up at the Student Activities desk in the back of Tolliver Hall. The deadlines for all applications, with no exception, is 5:00pm Thursday, September 20th.
