It’s spring everybody! Nothing better than getting out there and enjoy some fresh air, AND a movie. That’s why Union Board is putting together a drive-in this Tuesday, April 8th, 2008. The show will start at 7pm [updated] 8pm, right by the TAC. What are we showing? Our talented Special Events had a very interesting lineup, and the final lucky winner is: Dazed and Confused! It’ll be a blast, make sure you bring some friend along and share the fun. Cheers!

The biggest spring fling ever yet. EVER EVER! If you haven’t heard the news, our annual Spring Fling event is here again, this Tuesday, April 1st, 2008. We’ll kick things off at 11am in the Centennial Plaza, hopefully with a sunny sky and some breeze (of course, what am I talking about >.<). Make sure you come early to enjoy a full set of new activities this time around. AND they’re all free. You heard?!! FREE!!

It’s here. The spring quarter is officially here. We were very lucky to be welcomed back with some heavy snow. That was amazing wasn’t it? However, what is more amazing is this Tuesday, March 11th, 2008, we have comedian Paul Varghese coming here to Louisiana Tech University. At 7pm, he’ll be in Tolliver for your comedic moment. So bring your friends and come hang out with us tomorrow, you know you haven’t got any real homework yet.

It’s that time of the quarter again, and you know it. Finals week is coming up. More stress, more late night studying, more headaches. So before we actually get there, join us this Tuesday, Feb 19th, 2008, at 7pm in the TONK for a treat of Java City coffee and free, delicious cookies. Also accompanying the sugar intake is Tad Dreis, a talented singer, song-writer from North Carolina. So don’t miss out; come with friends and hang out before all the cramming kicks in.

All the way from Brooklyn, NY, Sherrod Small is coming to Tolliver this Tuesday night @7pm, Feb 12th, 2007. As a regular on VH1’s Best Week Ever, Sherrod sure wont disappoint your Tuesday night. Come and chill with us or you’ll miss out all the funny jokes.

So the news is out (on the Tech Talk anyway), but just in case you’re still covered in bed, and checking facebook at the same time, here’s the official announcement. The Spring concert line up has been determined and booked. This year, we’re having the Honda Civic Tour coming right here to the TAC. The tour will include performances of Panic At The Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, The Hush Sound, and Phantom Planet.

This is probably the biggest concert in the history of Louisiana Tech University Union Board, so make sure you don’t miss out. Clear a spot on your busy schedule @ 7pm on April 17, 2008 for this one of a life time event. Ticket will be on sale on Feb 18, from 9am-5pm in the Union Board office in Tolliver. $10 for students, and $25 for non-students.

This is not some silly, little-kid games that you used to play. This is serious business, with some very, very serious prize. Last year, we gave out $500 to the top winner, in green, cold (and maybe a bit dirty) cash. This year, we’re making it bigger, better, and pricier!Pricier?! YES, that’s right. Here’s a list of what we’re giving out by the end of this tournament:

• 1st Place — 42″ Plasma HD Plasma
• 2nd Place — PS3 w/ Rock Band (singer not included, but we can rent out some of our bests)
• 3rd/4th Place — Your choice of iPod nano or Digital Camera

If you start sweating after finish reading that list (already?!!), no worry, we also provide refreshment and sugary-finger-food for you at the event. What you should do now is go get your roommate up and start practicing. Why so soon? ‘Cause the event is this Tuesday, January 29th in the TONK. Registration starts @ 6:30 pm, and the brackets start dueling @ 7:00 pm.
