Bonnie and Clyde Festival

The famous killers Bonnie and Clyde were shot down in an Ambush on May 23, 1934. Each year, the town of Gibsland remembers the events that took place that May in a city-wide festival. The festival is a two-day event that is held in the Friday and Saturday closer to the anniversary of the shooting.

Traditionally, the famous "Reenactments E.T.C" acting company from Denison, Texas comes to reenact the shoots-outs and bank robberies Bonnie and Clyde participated in. Also, scholars get together in the "Lorrain Joyner Memorial Historians Meeting" where featured speakers discuss about the facts surrounding Bonnie and Clyde's life.

Tourists can have fun at the dances and live entertainment in town. They can also visit the Bonnie and Clyde Museum which features some Bonnie and Clyde memorabilia and memorial plaques to honor the officers that died in the hands of the infamous robbers.
