Replacing the banner.gif file with your graphic will result in this graphic appearing on each page. 

To Change the Picture on the Left

Besides the banner, this design also provides you with the option of adding an image to the left of your homepage. To change the image, you have to overwrite the file left_image.jpg on the images folder of this website with another of preferably 150 x 350 pixels of size.

If you don't want the image to be displayed, just delete the file left_image.jpg altogether.

To Change the Colors

The colors and fonts for this website are in a css file, style.css, not on the individual webpage.   Open this file up in Mozilla Composer to edit it.  You can search for and replace the existing color codes. The current colors are as follows:

Backgrounds:

  • tan (body background) = #CCCC99
  • silver (left column background) = #CCCCCC
  • white (text background) = #FFFFFF

Top Link Boxes:

  • blue-grey (color of current page's top link box) =#778699
  • dark blue (top link boxes to other pages) = #010066
  • light tan (when cursor is over a top box) = #E3E3C6

Side Link Boxes:

  • blue (heading box for side menu) = #403D8C
  • light tan (side link boxes to other pages) = #E3E3C6
  • black (when cursor is over a side box) = #000000

Text and Links

  • Brown (heading 1) = #663300
  • dark blue. (headings 2 and 3) = #010066
  • black (text) = #000000
  • wine red (links) = #993300
  • purple (visited links) = #663366

Tips for content on your homepage

You homepage should contain the most important and up-to-date information of the website. You should not, however, make the homepage extremely cluttered. Keep it to the point. And, if you want to go into detail, you can always link to your other pages in your website to provide more information.
