There are three main types of links that you can make in Mozilla Composer: absolute links, relative links, and email links.
Absolute links are used to link webpages that are not in your website. To create absolute links, do the following:
Relative links are used to link files within your website. To create relative links, you should follow this steps:
If you know the name of the file you are going to link to and the folder within the website (if any) where it is located you can skip some steps by just typing the name of the file under Link Location.
After you create any link, make sure it works in your computer, your website, and also test it in another computer where you do not have your website's files.
To create an email link, perform the same steps as with absolute links, however, you need to type mailto: in front of the email you will be linking to (e.g.: maito:webmaster@mysite.org).
You should be aware, however, that once you link your email from your website you will potentially receive more advertisements and unsolicited emails (i.e. spam) in you email box. Sadly, spammers look for email links on the internet using specialized software and add those newfound emails to their lists. So, we would not recommend you to create an email link to your personal email address, but rather create an email account (such as yourtown@yourtown.org) to respond to inquiries about your town's website.
