Application deadline nears
for Who's Who Among Students
Applications for Who's Who Among Students will be available Oct. 25.
Who's Who is a prestigious award that recognizes students who served as outstanding campus leaders throughout the school year.
Applications will be available in the Student Government Association office, located in Tolliver Hall. Applications are due Nov. 12. Students can turn in their forms by 4 p.m. in the SGA office.

Four bands to perform tonight at Rabb's Steak and Spirits
Cross Canadian Ragweed, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Robison and Monty Russell will perform at 8 p.m. tonight at Rabb's Steak and Spirits, located on 2647 South Service Rd., in the outdoor concert field.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $40 for VIP.
Cross Canadian Ragweed returns to Ruston after releasing their album "Soul Gravy."
Bentley was also makes a stop in Ruston, delivering his Top 20 hits "What was I Thinking," "My Last Name" and "How am I Doing."
Robison, also returning to Rabb's, brings the sounds of his new album "Good Times."
Russell will debut his new album "The Picasso of Paintin' the Town."

Chamber Orchestra rehearsal practices to be held bi-weekly
Tech's Chamber Orchestra will hold rehearsal practices from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday night in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts, Room 224.
Any student is welcome to join the orchestra and music ensembles regardless of major.
Students interested in joining should attend the orchestra rehearsal and contact Don Webster, director of the Chamber Orchestra, in Howard Hall, Room 224 or call the School of Performing Arts.
University string instruments are available for any student's use.

Association fundraiser to jail two seniors until payoff made
Brandon Zeringue, a senior chemistry major, and Jason Lyon, a senior biology major, will go to jail Oct. 28 as a part of the Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser.
Bail is set at $1,000, and the students will be held at the Ramada Inn, located at 401 North Service Rd.
They will remain in jail until bail is met.
The charity event accepts cash, checks or credit cards in payment for their release.
Zeringue and Lyon were chosen for this fundraiser by the Muscular Dystrophy Association to produce charitable donations for this cause.

BCM to have Bible study and worship every Monday evening
Baptist Collegiate Ministry is having a Bible study and worship 7:30 p.m. every Monday in the Student Center, Main Floor.
Journey is the name of the Bible study, and it is lead by Linda Osborne, the BCM director, and Nate Young, the assistant director. A movie clip is shown and Christian music is played.
During Bible study there are 10 freshman groups led by upperclassmen. The upperclassmen are led by 20 couple leaders.
Anyone who is interested is invited, and attendance is usually around 200 people.

Comedian Redbone to perform courtesy of the Union Board
Union Board will host the appearance of comedian Mike "Redbone" Alcott at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Center, Main Floor.
The show is open and free to all students with a valid Tech ID. Redbone has appeared on such stations as Comedy Central and Black Entertainment Television. He has performed on "Comic View" since 1999.
Redbone also tours colleges and clubs across the United States. According to http://www.comediandepot.com, he has headlined the RJE Urban Comedy Cabaret Tour, which has been named the biggest and most profiting tour of colleges.

Delta Sigma Pi to hold formal recruitment meeting tonight
Beta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, is holding a formal recruiting meeting at 6 p.m. tonight in the College of Administration and Business building, Room 102.
The meeting is for all business majors, and those in attendance need to be professionally dressed.
The chapter holds weekly business meetings, participates in professional activities, fundraisers, recruiting events, socials, community projects and university intramurals.

Temple hosts 'Salsa with the Savior' at 9 p.m. Wednesdays
Temple Baptist Church is having a weekly Bible study at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays called "Salsa with the Savior" at Old Mexico Restaurant, located at 207 North Service Rd. East.
The restaurant will serve chips, salsa and drinks for $2.50.
The topic discussed is the show "Friends" and how it relates to Godly friendships.
