One highlight of Homecoming Week is finding out what guy
and girl will represent Tech students as Homecoming King and Queen.
Among the hopefuls was Donald Page, a senior photography
major, who was nominated by the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
After nomination was the interviewing process.
“They asked us about things you know about Tech or things
you would like to see done here.”
Just making it to that stage was fulfilling enough for
Page.
“I was excited but I was actually pretty surprised cause
I never considered myself to be that kind of guy,” Page said.
You mean well respected by his peers?
Well, with receiving some of the most votes from the
students, Page was named as a member of Homecoming Court.
When asked who he thought had the best shot of winning
Page said, “There are lots of quality people on court so its going to be
anybody’s guess.”
With seven guys and seven girls making up the court, the
announcement for how will be crowned King and Queen at Friday’s Bark Practice
will send many friends and family to the edge of their seats.
But these 14 still have other aspects of Homecoming Week
to enjoy before then.
The court will be presented in the parade held Friday
afternoon.
“That is going to be the coolest part for me, riding
around in a sweet car,” Page said.
What else did Page do to prepare for Homecoming Week?
“I bought a new suit.”
