McNeese staffer says 'thanks' to campus

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff of Louisiana Tech University:

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff of Louisiana Tech University:

My name is Michael Graham, and I am the Chief Information Technology Officer at McNeese State University

Some of my staff and I have been living in Ruston for over a week now since Hurricane Rita changed many of the lives of the people of Southwest Louisiana.

We are now beginning the process of moving home.

Before that happens, I wanted to take a moment on behalf of the students, faculty and staff of McNeese State University to say thank you for the hospitality that you have shown us.

Everywhere we’ve gone, we’ve heard concern from your employees and students, but more importantly, the offers of help and support have done a world of good for us.

You have shown compassion, kindness and warmth in our hour of need.

In particular, I would like to thank Dr. Dan Reneau for agreeing to allow us to come and Mr. Roy Waters and his computing center staff for accommodating every one of our needs.

When I called Roy and asked for his help, his response was immediate. He simply said, “Come on.”

He and his staff have allowed us the space to work, helped us find electric wiring, and even opened up their homes to us and allowed some of us to stay with them.

It sometimes takes a crisis to make people realize what a great thing is in front of them. From an outsider’s perspective this is a wonderful, warm and kind institution, and the people here are first rate.

You are all truly blessed to study or work here.

Each and every one of you will hold a special place in the hearts of the folks from McNeese who have been here working, and in the hearts of the students, faculty, and staff who have benefited by having our services up and running at Louisiana Tech University.

Warmest Regards,

Michael R. Graham

Chief Information Technology Officer

McNeese State University
