Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff of
My name is Michael Graham, and I am the Chief Information
Technology Officer at
Some of my staff and I have been living in Ruston for
over a week now since Hurricane Rita changed many of the lives of the people of
Southwest Louisiana.
We are now beginning the process of moving home.
Before that happens, I wanted to take a moment on behalf
of the students, faculty and staff of
Everywhere we’ve gone, we’ve heard concern from your
employees and students, but more importantly, the offers of help and support
have done a world of good for us.
You have shown compassion, kindness and warmth in our
hour of need.
In particular, I would like to thank Dr. Dan Reneau for agreeing to allow us to come and Mr. Roy Waters
and his computing center staff for accommodating every one of our needs.
When I called
He and his staff have allowed us the space to work,
helped us find electric wiring, and even opened up their homes to us and
allowed some of us to stay with them.
It sometimes takes a crisis to make people realize what a
great thing is in front of them. From an outsider’s perspective this is a
wonderful, warm and kind institution, and the people here are first rate.
You are all truly blessed to study or work here.
Each and every one of you will hold a special place in
the hearts of the folks from McNeese who have been
here working, and in the hearts of the students, faculty, and staff who have
benefited by having our services up and running at Louisiana Tech
University.
