to drop with “W”
The last day to drop courses with a grade of “W” or to
resign from the university with a grade of “W” is at
Drop forms may be obtained in the Office of the Registrar
in Keeny Hall, Room 207.
An adviser or department head must sign the drop form.
The university registrar would also like to remind
students that early registration begins Oct. 31 for honors and graduate
students.

in the Wyly Tower of Learning, Room 318.

DBW to hold gas
giveaway raffle
The Society of Distinguished
Black Women, a service organization for women, is holding DBW Week this week.
DBW will hold a $50 gas-give-away raffle today from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center, Main Floor. They will sell tickets from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and have the drawing at 2 p.m.
The group will travel to the Edge of Madness in Calhoun 7
p.m. tomorrow, and everyone is invited to join. DBW will also have Road
Clean-Up at 8 a.m. on Saturday on Hergot Road.
The purpose of DBW is to maintain unity in the community
and as well as the family. DBW also promotes community service and political
awareness, all while emphasizing sisterhood.

Meet with GSA in
Tech’s Gay Straight Alliance will hold a meeting at 7
p.m. tonight in the Student Center, Room 210.
Among the topics of tonight’s meeting are planning out
more social events and the Safe Space program to create better relations
between those who are of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community
and those students who are not.
GSA plans social events for the weeks in between
meetings.

Get fellowship,
food every Wednesday
The Episcopal Canterbury Association holds a worship
service with free food and fellowship at 6 p.m. every Wednesday.
The event takes place at Episcopal Church of the
Redeemer, located at 504 Tech Dr., across from the Tech police station.
Holy Communion will be given at 6 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m.,
a meal will be served.
The gathering is open and free to all Tech students who
are interested.
The Canterbury Association is a group that offers
fellowship and encouragement to college students.

Owner to speak on
entrepreneurship
Teresa Gordon, a small business owner from Monroe, will
speak at 4 p.m. today in the College of Administration and Business Building,
Room 206.
Gordon plans to share how she went from being a housewife
to starting her own successful bakery business, Daily Harvest.
Gordon will speak to the Management 400 class of Dr.
Richard Lester, an assistant professor of management.
The session will last about an hour and will be split in
half with one session of sharing her story and the other as a question and
answer session.
Any students interested are encouraged to attend, but
there is only room for 10 to 15 students.

Take last-minute
photos in Tolliver
Photographs for the 2005-06 Lagniappe are available again
for those who missed previous dates.
Photographers will take pictures between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
today in Tolliver Hall.
There is no charge for having a photo taken.
Various packages may be purchased through Portraits Plus,
located at 701 N. Trenton St.
Cap and gown photograph packages may also be purchased
for graduating seniors.
This is the last opportunity to have a photo taken for
the Lagniappe.
Spirit of ’88 cards will be stamped for everyone who gets
a picture taken.
