Theatre hosts open
auditions this week
Open auditions for the Winter New Play Festival are being
held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in
the Stone Theatre located in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts.
Auditions are open to all Tech students.
This year’s selected original plays are “Stained Glass
Ugly” by Qui Nguyen, a Tech graduate of theatre, and “The Maternal Instinct” by
Monica Bauer.
The productions will be directed by students who have
been selected by the theatre department.
The performances will alternate every other night.

Business owners to
speak Tuesday
Aaron Paul and Tim Soto, owners of Business Technology
Group L.L.C., will speak at 6 p.m.
Tuesday at the College of Administration
and Business, Room 206.
Business Technology Group L.L.C., an information
technology consulting company, is based in Ruston
and offers infrastructure engineering and consulting, systems integration,
software development, software acquisition, technology sales and Web and e-mail
hosting.
Paul and Soto, both Tech graduates in management
information systems, will speak for an hour on how they started their company
and their experience in information technology and entrepreneurship.
All students are encouraged to attend.

Student Recruiters
to serve at Pizza Inn
The Student Recruiters are taking a break from campus
tours and “Time Out for Tech” to showcase their serving abilities for their
annual fundraising project.
The team of 45 members will serve as waiters and
waitresses from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 at Pizza Inn, located at 1108
Tech Drive.
The group decided on the event as a way to raise money
for its yearly expenditures.
The recruiters, who will perform daily serving
activities, will earn money for the expenditures through tips.

Trail leads sports
camps to Ruston
The 2005 directors of Kids Across
America and Kanakuk Kamps
will stop in Ruston as part of
their Winter Trail and Movie Tours.
Kampers, friends and family are
invited to share stories and watch summer videos at 7 p.m. tonight in Adams Residence Hall Parlor.
Kids Across America Kamps are sports camps committed to reaching the urban
youth through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Kanakuk Kamps
are outdoor summer sport camps that promote personal growth and Christian
character.
The event is free and open to anyone interested in
learning about either camp.

Students must meet with an adviser and clear all holds
before registering.

Visiting artists
show work at VAC now
The School of Art
will host exhibits from visiting artists through Dec. 8.
In the Main Gallery, located in the Visual
Arts Center,
“Abstract Los Angeles” is showing, which features pieces from various artists
from Los Angeles.
Mikey Walsh, an artist from New
York, is showing in the adjacent gallery, the E.J. Bellocq Gallery.
Admission is free for all students. No ID is necessary to
enter.
Both galleries are located by the front entrance of the
VAC facing the M.S. Carroll Natatorium.

Ensemble to bring
jazzed-up lunch
Tech’s music department will hold a Jazz Lunch Concert
from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Student
Center, Main Floor.
Music will vary from early swing, rock and funk to songs
that are on the charts today.
Soloist Alcedrick Todd, a
senior music major, will be one of the highlights along with Curtis Mills, a
senior music major, who will play the tenor saxophone.
This concert is free to all students.

Tickets available
for next LTCA show
The Louisiana Tech Concert Association will present Adam Holzman, a classical guitarist from Austin,
Texas, at 7:30
p.m. next Thursday in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing
Arts.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children under 18 and
senior citizens and $3 for students with valid Tech ID.
The box office is now open to sell tickets from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45
p.m.
