Lately, I have seen my share of full moons -- and I am not talking about the ones in the sky.

I am talking about the moons that should be covered under layers of undergarments and pants.

With the rise in popularity of ultra low-rise jeans, it seems the presence of underwear has become a fashion no-no.

After a recent trip to a local bar in Ruston, I was left wondering if maybe there was a plumber's convention in town.

Everywhere I turned I saw girls' hind-ends creeping out of their pants.

It is a sight that, although appalling, is impossible to ignore or turn your head away from.

On the dance floor I saw derrieres dipping down and exposing much more than a hip new dance move.

Off the dance floor I saw throngs of thongs peeking out of the low-rise pants of girls sitting down.

For a moment, I felt as if the bartender was serving up colonoscopies and not mixed drinks.

Did I miss the memo stating that midriffs were out and butt cracks were in?

When did wearing underwear become not cool?

It seems as if the granny panties of our generation are all of the coverage-designed panties in general.

Wearing thongs and going commando are now the only acceptable forms of undergarmetry (or lack thereof).

As a woman, I am disgusted by this. I believe there is no class in a girl who proudly bears her lace-decorated Victoria's Secret thong, or even worse a bare butt, to a crowded bar full of people.

I don't know when or where this fad began, although I have my suspicions.

I credit Britney Spears with popularizing the lowest-rising pants imaginable as well as making it cool to show your barely-there underwear.

Well, I want to declare an end to this fashion trend. I also proudly admit that I do wear underwear and have never let my crack slip out of my pants in public.

Girls should have some dignity and realize that these types of clothes do not make them sexy -- far from it. This is what my mother taught me was trashy when I was younger.

I also know that being sexy doesn't come from your clothes; it's how your wear them. It is the way you carry yourself and the inner confidence you hold.

The styles of movie stars and fashion icons that remain today are from those women generally regarded as elegant and sophisticated, like Audrey Hepburn and Halle Berry, not the women who create a media frenzy because of their lack of clothes (Pamela Anderson and Lil' Kim).

Showing the whole world your exposed rear end is classless and cheap.

I know current fashion trends revolve around the lowest-rising pants you can find, but if you're planning to wear them, be prepared to do some damage (or crack) control all night.

The moment you step into those tiny jeans, you are taking your butt into your own hands.

You must know you will not be able to bend or sit in these pants -- so don't try.

Have some respect for yourself and those around you.

If you absolutely must show some cleavage, make sure it's coming from your bra and not your backside.
