The Bulldogs (4-10; 2-0) are looking for their third
straight conference win as they face off against Boise's Mustangs (7-5, 1-0)
tonight in Idaho.
Boise, who is coming off a road loss against Nevada on
Monday night, is ready to add another win to its conference record.
Tech's senior guard Trey McDowell was named WAC Player of
the Week last week, beating out Boise's Matt Nelson, after leading the Bulldogs
to two straight conference victories and averaging 18 points per game in the
WAC.
McDowell follows teammate senior Chad McKenzie in season play.
McKenzie has averaged 13 points per game and 5.7
rebounds, as opposed to McDowell's 10 points per game and 2.3 rebounds.
McDowell also leads the team in three-pointers with a
.412 average.
Boise is led by Nelson, achieving a .639 field goal
percentage, making 69 out of 108 attempted field goals and averaging 15 points
per game.
The junior forward has amassed 104 total rebounds,
averaging 8.7 per game for the season.
Guard Colby Karl follows close behind, leading the team
in three-pointers and free throws with .438 and .827 averages respectively.
Karl's average points per game have slightly dipped this
season though, falling behind Nelson to 14.8 points per game.
The senior led the team last season with a team-high of
17.2 points per game.
The Bulldogs continue WAC play on Saturday with a road
trip to Logan, Utah, to play the Utah State Aggies.
