Blanco petitioned to leave office
Kat Landry, a Republican of Louisiana, has filed a recall
petition concerning Gov. Kathleen Blanco.
According to www.foxnews.com, Landry is trying to gain
support to remove Blanco from office.
“What we have seen in the past few months is a lack of
leadership to recover from the stormsí back-to-back
blows,” Landry said.
To get a recall in Louisiana,
one-third of the state’s registered voters, or 900,000 citizens, must sign the
petition in 180 days.
Those wanting to vote for the petition can visit
www.recallgovenorblanco.com to find out more information.
If the petition gets the 900,000 signatures needed, a
majority of votes in a recall election would be needed to remove Blanco from
office.

Mouse, leaves sets man’s house on fire
Luciano Mares’, an 81-year-old
man in Fort Sumner, N.M., watched his home burn in flames thanks to an awful
incident.
According to www.msn.com, while burning a pile of leaves
in his backyard, Mares’ found a mouse caught on a glue trap he had set up
earlier.
Mares’ threw the mouse and the trap into the fire, but
moments later the mouse was said to be seen running, still on fire, into the
house.
Ninety seconds later the fire was blazing and the
two-story home was leveled.
This version of the story was contradictory to what
Mares’ had told television reporters a day earlier, blaming the wind for the
destruction.
Since then Mares’ has stuck with the mouse story, which
others are in favor of believing.
Though some wondered how the mouse escaped the glue trap,
Fire Chief Juan Chavez said it is possible for the heat to melt the glue,
providing for the mouse to get free.
