Two boys arrested after drawing violent pictures of classmate

Two boys were arrested Monday and charged with a felony after drawing pictures of the stabbing and hanging of a classmate, according to CNN.com.

The children, nine and 10 years old, were taken from school in handcuffs and charged with writing a threat to kill or harm another person.

One of the two drawings in question depicted the boys with long knives pointed through a third boy.

The second picture showed a crying stick figure hanging while two figures below him watched. Scraps of paper listed the initials of the allegedly threatened boy and misspelled profanities.

The children's parents believe the boys should not be punished by the legal system, but by the school and families.

Numbers still out on new Bond; Jackman, McGregor considered

Wolverine, Van Helsing and Curly McLain are just a few of the characters Australian actor Hugh Jackman has under his belt.

But according to Fandango.com, Jackman is currently in the running to be the next James Bond.

British bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill cut their odds 2-1 to make Jackman their choice to replace Pierce Brosnan, who has portrayed 007 in the last four Bond films.

"Closer" star Clive Owen was also in the running, but got his chances cut after winning a Golden Globe for his character in the same movie. In close second is "Star War's" and "Big Fish" star Ewan McGregor.

Released insurgent video shows American contractor pleading

Insurgents released a video last Tuesday showing yet another American hostage pleading for his life.

According to Reuters the video shows Roy Hallums, a 56-year-old American contractor, detained in Baghdad sitting on the floor rubbing his hands with a rifle to his head.

Officials are not sure when the video was made, or if he is still alive.

"I'm asking for help because my life is in danger because it's been proved that I work for American forces," Hallums said on the video. Unlike other hostage tapes that come from Iraq, the video did not show any group's banner or flag, and no demands were made by the insurgents.

"We are the World" anniversary brings song back 20 years later

"We are the World," the song that raised over $60 million in 1985 for aide famine in Africa, is back. This time the all-star charity anthem is raising money for AIDS and tsunami victims.

Some performers on the song include Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder.

Organizers said Monday hundreds of radio stations around the world are planning to broadcast the song tomorrow at 11 a.m. to mark the anniversary.

Georgia country store owners not charged in death of robbers

The owners of a country store in Georgia will not be charged in the killing of two armed robbers, local officials said.

According to CNN.com, Bobby and Gloria Doster opened fire on the suspects after the two men walked into the store, declared a hold up and fired a shot at 62-year-old Bobby Doster.

The suspect missed, and his pistol jammed, giving both Dosters a chance to open fire. The suspects took cover behind a meat counter while Gloria fired shots with a 9 mm pistol and attempted to dial 911 at the same time.

Police arrived at the scene approximately five minutes after receiving the call.

The suspects died later at the hospital.

False terror alarm in Boston causes criminal investigation

The terror alert last week in Boston was just a false alarm, the FBI said last Tuesday.

According to Foxnews.com, a law enforcement official in Mexico said a suspected smuggler made up the story to get back at people who did not pay him.

"There were in fact no terrorist plans or activity under way," an FBI statement said.

"Because the criminal investigation is ongoing, no further details can be provided at this time."

Jose Ernesto Beltran and his son, also named Jose, were detained in Mexicali, a Mexican border city near San Diego.

According to officials, the two men were involved in smuggling Chinese immigrants across the border and had argued over payment for a deal. They then called in the false tip to U.S. authorities as revenge, officials said.
