Tech offers SAC in Wyly Tower
The Student Achievement Center will hold its grand
opening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9.
The center’s goal is to keep enrollment up.
The writing center gives assistance to students in
freshman English classes.
The Student Achievement Center will also help students
with the material covered in lower level math classes.
All services offered by the SAC are free to Tech
students. The SAC is located on the main and third floors of Wyly Tower of Learning.

Stone Theatre to present comedy
“Dearly Departed,” a farcical comedy, is coming to campus
7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Stone Theatre.
The production, by David Bottrell
and Jesse Jones, will start every night until Feb. 10. The play will resume
Feb. 13 and run through Feb. 15 with the same start time.
The comedy depicts a southern family trying to pull a
variety of family members together for a funeral.
Tickets are $4 for students with a valid Tech ID. General
admission for adults is $8, children and senior
citizens get in for $6.

Public welcome to participate in walk
Students, student organizations, faculty and staff are
all eligible to sign up by Feb. 16 for the American Heart Association Heart
Walk.
The walk will be held Feb. 24.

Chi Alpha to host events for students
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship invites students to come
to “The Narthex” from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday in the Student Center, Room
222.
“The Narthex” is a praise and worship service that
includes teaching from Greg Pampell, Chi Alpha campus
minister.
When “The Narthex” service comes to a close, students are
invited to the Chi Alpha House located on Hestria
Lane for “Café Chi Alpha.”
Students can hang out at “Café Chi Alpha” from 9 to 11
p.m. Tuesdays.
Activities range from performances from local and
visiting music groups to karaoke nights or movie nights.
“Cell Groups” are another ministry of Chi Alpha.
Students are encouraged to join one of the 12 Bible
studies that are held at different times and different days of the week in Tech
residence halls.
There are separate Bible studies for men and women.

Applications for SGA available
Applications are now available for the Student Government
Association Supreme Court and Senate.
Several Supreme Court positions are open, along with one
Senate position representing the College of Liberal Arts.
Justices make sure the student government is accountable
and functioning within the bounds set forward by the SGA constitution.
Senators represent their college in weekly SGA meetings
Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in Davison Hall, Room 213.
They communicate with students and faculty of their
respective college and present the needs of the college to SGA.
Applications are available at the SGA offices in Tolliver
Hall, Rooms 211 and 212.

ACTS to hold upcoming events
The Association of Catholic Tech Students welcomes
students to get involved in its weekly events.
ACTS, located at the Catholic Student Center, 810 Carey
Ave., offers weekly Bible studies, separate for guys and girls.
Bible studies meet at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the
Catholic Student Center.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at the Catholic
Student Center, ACTS offers lunch for $1 to all students.
At 9 p.m. on Wednesdays ACTS invites students to come for
informal mass, also in the Catholic Student Center.
From 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays students can gather
at the Catholic Student Center for “Saturday Night Socials.”
ACTS members prepare meals for this time when students
can enjoy food and fellowship.
College Mass is at 7 p.m. on Sundays, at St. Thomas
Aquinas Church located on 600 Thornton St.
