Fans of the first "Ring" will be pleasantly surprised with the sequel to the horror flick.

"The Ring 2," released March 18, features the return of Rachel and Aidan Keller (Naomi Watts and David Dorfman) as they began a new life and try to put the horrors of the past behind them.

The journalist and her self-reliant son move to Seattle and life appears to be getting back to normal until a teenage boy mysteriously dies as he and his date are watching a tape together (sound familiar?).

The cause of death?

The demented ghost of Samara makes her second appearance, only this time, she wants AidanÉ or does she?

After much research, Rachel discovers that Samara's mother (Sissy Spacek) is not dead. She is just in an insane asylum, and she visits her to ask for advice on how to vanquish the tortured spirit.

This movie is an emotional rollercoaster, brimming with freaky near-death experiences punctuated by episodes of relief.

For those who were disappointed by the first movie, its encore may prove to be a scream.

For those who aren't easily spooked, however, the mystery and suspense may be intriguing as you deduce what each clue Rachel finds on her search may mean for the mother and child.

Though the movie has its high points, it was not without flaws.

One such incident is when Rachel asks her co-worker to watch her child while she goes home to get clothes and medicine.

The unsuspecting co-worker has no idea what kind of supernatural disturbances occur around the child and would not know what to do.

The event that the wrath of Samara hit while she was gone.

Movie logic is always warped. But when everything is so obvious, it destroys the element of surprise for the next disastrous event, it ruins the horror effect.

Another fatal flaw came from an outdoors scene.

But, aside from these travesties, this movie is a great way to spend an evening with friends or a significant other.

Note to the guys: After the first 30 minutes of the movie, most of the audience girls were jumping and screaming at everything.
