Bringing Greek and religious organizations together is among the plans of Student Government Association presidential candidate Daniel Seuzeneau, a junior marketing major.
Seuzeneau said the Greek and religious organizations play very big roles in the university and the two of them working together can get much accomplished.
Seuzeneau said if elected, "I would try to get the organizations to work more as a unit rather than as individuals."
Seuzeneau would also like to have a sole Greek director at the university.
"The Greek system has been failing over the years, and we need to change that," he said.
"If we could have someone that understands the Greek system and how it should be run, we would be able to help out the fraternities and sororities more than ever."
Additionally, Seuzeneau would like to see the university have events off campus. He said having events on campus is great, but people need a change.
"Lincoln Parish Park would be a great area to host an SGA-related event next year. The SGA needs to work more with the community than we currently do."
Seuzeneau, as president, would like to implement a trolley system for the university, available Friday and Saturday nights, to drive students around to cut back on drunken driving.
"Let's face it. We are all in college, and sometimes when people are drinking they don't make the best decisions, and they drive," Seuzeneau said.
"With a trolley system, lives could be saved, and people would think twice before driving drunk."
Seuzeneau is a former member-at-large, senator and cabinet member of SGA.
He has been in the Greek system as a Delta Chi for three years and currently serves as vice president for the fraternity.
Seuzeneau also served as an Orientation Student Leader last year.
After graduation, Seuzeneau plans to join the Louisiana State Police and later pursue a career with the FBI.
In his spare time, he enjoys working with campus activities and helping out with his fraternity.
