"Vote and Re-elect Lindsey Bergeron for SGA Secretary" is the official slogan. Unofficially, "Pick me," Bergeron said.

Bergeron is currently the secretary for the Student Government Association and a senior speech communications major.

"Through the experiences I've had with the SGA this past year, I've learned what can be accomplished and how to get the job done," Bergeron said. "I know what needs to get situated ahead of time."

The responsibilities of SGA secretary include taking roll, keeping track of office hours, e-mailing the university chairman to post the meeting minutes on the SGA Web site and running errands.

Bergeron said she has already seen improvement in the secretarial position.

"I used to take the minutes by hand," she said. "Now we have nice laptops." The laptops were received as the result of a proposal to the university Technology Board.

Bergeron said her main goal is to enhance the participation in the SGA and the interaction between the members and the organization.

"The main thing is more interaction," Bergeron said. "Interaction between the organization and the university and interaction between the organization and the student body."

Bergeron is currently running unopposed, but that makes no difference to her.

She said it will be an exciting year based on the experiences of previous elections.

"It's my senior year," Bergeron said.

"I'm not really worried. Whatever happens will happen for a reason."
