Room reservations underway
for summer, fall housing
Tech housing requires all students living on campus for the summer
and fall quarters of 2005 to pre-pay for housing.
Students who live in the dorms should go to the housing office,
located at 100 Hergot St. in Harris Hall, on the dates listed below to
reserve their room. Prepayment for all rooms is $100.
Residents with a last name that begins with M-Z wanting to keep
the same room for fall can reserve their rooms today and tomorrow.
Students who fail to reserve their rooms will allow other residents
to claim that space for the fall.
Residents wanting a different room for the fall can reserve their
rooms beginning noon Monday through Wednesday for students who
have 80 hours or more; those with 60 hours or more can reserve rooms
at 1 p.m. May 4-6; those with 40 hours or more can reserve rooms at
noon May 9-11. Those with 39 hours or less can reserve a room at 1
p.m. May 11-13.
Students who fail to reserve a room by 5 p.m. May 20 must reapply
for campus housing.

Proceeds of Wesley golf tourney
to support summer mission
The Wesley Foundation is looking for participants in its yearly golf
tournament.
The event is a fundraiser and will take place May 7 at Trails End
Golf Course in Arcadia.
Each golfer will have sponsors that will make donations.
Any donation amount is appreciated.
Profits will go to one of three mission trips planned for this summer
for the Wesley Foundation.

Alliance for Liberty to sponsor
free movie night for campus
The Tech Alliance for Liberty will show the film “Dead Poets Society”
at 7 p.m. May 9 in the Student Center, Main Floor.
It is free and open to all students.
There will be a question and answer session after the movie, as well
as information packets and a contact sheet for students interested in
joining the group. The Alliance for Liberty is an organization concerned
with student and faculty rights and is not supported or funded
by any political organization.

Performing Arts to continue run
of spring musical tomorrow
The School of Performing Arts will present its spring musical,
“Pump Boys and Dinettes,” at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday in
Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts.
Set somewhere on Highway 57, “Pump Boys and Dinettes” is a
musical tribute to life by the roadside.
Admission for the performance is $8 for adults, $7 for children
under 18 and $4 for students with a valid Tech ID.
Dressy-casual attire should be worn.

eBay workshop available May 3
for beginning online traders
A new workshop for those interested in the online trading business
is now available to the public.
The Selling on eBay Workshop will offer classes May 3 and 5.
These courses will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. both nights in Davison
Hall, Room 107.
In order to ensure eligibility for the program, participants must
have a valid e-mail address, checking account and credit card prior to
registering. The registration fee is $55, and it covers both classes. The
classes are tailored to beginning business owners, so no experience is
required.

Tech takes time out to recruit
prospective students Saturday
Time out for Tech, a student-visit program for high school students
to come and see Tech, will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Visitors will explore two academic departments of interest.
In each department, students will talk with professors and students
who are in the major to learn more about it.
After the students see their preferred areas of study, they will meet
with a residential life employee.
After that, the students will hear from Tech’s financial aid office.
At noon the students will have lunch and then will choose between
going to a Lady Techsters softball game that starts at 2 p.m., or a Tech
baseball game that starts at 3 p.m.

Minority students to hold luau
Saturday to help tsunami victims
The Minority Student Organization will hold a Charity Luau from
noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the tailgating area near the Thomas Assembly
Center.
Games, activities, food and drinks will be available with a minimal
charge. All proceeds will benefit the tsunami victims.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend this event.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring blankets, water guns and
other things necessary to enjoy a picnic atmosphere.

Students can compete for prizes
at Midnight Hunt this Tuesday
The first Midnight Hunt will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday starting at the
Clocktower. The Student Personnel Services’ Counseling 401 class is
sponsoring this event.
Teams of two to three can participate in the hunt, or individuals
may participate alone. The objective of the game is to see if students
can solve puzzles, find clues and locate items in the dark. This scavenger
hunt will also help students learn more about the campus.
The first team to find all of the things on the list will win a prize.
Snacks and drinks will be provided afterward. All students are
encouraged to participate.
