Last day to drop classes nears; forms available from Registrar
The last day to drop a class with a "W" is Friday. Any classes dropped after Friday will result in an "F."
Students can drop a class by obtaining a drop slip in the Registrar's Office, located in Keeny Hall, Room 207. After students get their adviser to sign the slip and take the slip back to the Registrar's Office, they will officially be withdrawn from the class.
The Registrar's Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday. Students may need to check with their adviser in case a special signature is necessary.

Admissions seeks recruiters; application deadline Friday
The Office of Admissions is currently taking applications for Student Recruiters, a service organization aimed at promoting the university to prospective students.
Interested students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be available for campus tours, attend weekly meetings and also be responsible.
Application forms can be obtained from the Office of Admissions located on the second floor of Wyly Tower of Learning. The deadline for application submission is Friday at noon. Interviews will be conducted from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Registration to begin Monday; course schedules now online
Advising, early Web registration, early schedule adjustment and early fee payment for the summer and fall quarters will begin Monday and continue through May 21.
Registration for seniors begins Tuesday, Thursday for juniors, May 10 for sophomores and May 12 for freshmen.
Web registration hours are 8 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend hours are from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
Available course sections and the PDF version of the Racing Form are already on Bulldog Online Student System, and paper copies are available in the stands outside the Registrar's Office, located in Keeny Hall, Room 207.

Foundation to award donors; nominations currently accepted
The College of Engineering and Science Foundation is seeking nominations for its annual contributions award.
Every year, the foundation recognizes individuals or teams who have made significant contributions to the COES in the past year.
The college will grant an award of up to $5,000 for faculty, staff and/or students and a non-monetary award for alumni and friends.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends are encouraged to submit nominations. Nominations should be submitted by May 14 in the dean's office of Bogard Hall, Room 201.

College hosts reception today; faculty, staff to receive honors
The College of Applied and Natural Sciences will coordinate a student recognition reception with a research symposium at noon today in the Student Center, Main Floor.
ANS Day will recognize featured students from agricultural sciences, biological sciences, forestry, health information management, human ecology and nursing.
Research awards and faculty and staff awards will also be presented, as well as the $100 award to the T-shirt design winner. Door prizes will be awarded with an MP3 player as the grand prize. Free tickets are available to ANS students at their departmental office.

Continuing Education to offer sports massage therapy class
The Division of Continuing Education is offering a class in sports massage therapy from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 6 in Davison Hall, Room 105. The cost is $35, and everyone is invited to sign up.
Registration forms are located in the office of the Division of Continuing Education in Davison Hall, Room 110 and will close 24 hours before the class.
Kimberli Ridgeway, a licensed massage therapist, will teach the introductory course.
Quick release techniques, identifying trigger points and other massage therapy techniques will be taught.

Art Council to present festival; musicals, activities to entertain
The North Central Louisiana Arts Council will present the Piney Hills Art Festival from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Railroad Park, located in downtown Ruston.
The event will feature musicals in jazz, blues and classical genres.
There will also be art displays in painting, metalwork, photography, woodwork and textiles.
The festival also offers activities such as face painting, basket weaving and coloring for the children.
The event is free and open to the public.

Local club accepts applications for part-time job opportunities
The Ruston Boys & Girls Club is accepting applications for part-time group leader positions.
A group leader supervises children and participates in activities with children. Children's ages range from 6 to 18 years old, and activities are age-appropriate.
The deadline for applications is Monday at 5 p.m., and interviews will be held afterward. Those interested may pick up an application, or apply in person, at the Boys & Girls Club, located on 300 Memorial Drive.
Those applying must be at least 18 years of age and able to work a five-hour shift five days a week. Shifts are 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
