Bone Bowl, Baseball and Bar-B-Q is the theme for the
weekend of April 8 at Tech as plenty of athletic activities are scheduled for
the university campus and Bulldog fans.
The day will begin with an 11 a.m. lunch provided by
Dowling’s Smokehouse of Ruston free to all current Champs members. The tent
will be set up in the north endzone of Joe Aillet Stadium and Dowling’s barbeque can also be purchased
by Tech fans and students who are not Champs members.
Also at 10:45 a.m. an intramural football game will be
played at Joe Aillet Stadium as members of Kappa
Delta, Sigma Kappa, Alpha Chi and Phi Mu sororities
will compete against one another.
Tech’s annual spring football game — aptly named the Bone
Bowl — will begin at noon at Joe Aillet Stadium as
head coach Jack Bicknell’s Bulldogs will take the field in a preview of the
2006 season.
The Tech cheerleaders and Champ will also be on hand
beginning at 11 a.m. for face painting and picture taking with all young
Bulldog fans.
Wade Simoneaux and the Bulldog
baseball team will host Western Athletic Conference foe Nevada at J.C. Love
Field at 3 p.m. in the second game of a three-game weekend series.
Game No. 1 will take place Friday at 6 p.m. while the
conclusion of the series will start Sunday at 1 p.m.
