Department of residential life
to hold Midnight Delight tonight
The department of residential life will sponsor Midnight Delight from 8 p.m. until midnight tonight at the Maxie Lambright Intramural Center.
"I Love the '80s" will be the theme for the night. Students are encouraged to dress in '80s style, and a disc jockey will play '80s hits, along with other music.
All activities in the intramural center will be available for use to those who bought tickets, and the skating rink will be open. Food will be provided, and Midnight Delight T-shirts will be given out at the end of the night.
Tickets may be purchased from resident assistants for $3 before the night of the event or $5 at the door.

Union Board applications
available for new members
The Union Board will be accepting new members this fall until noon Tuesday in the Union Board office, located in Tolliver Hall.
Applications are open to all students.
Students may pick up an application at the information desk in Tolliver or online at http://www.unionboard.com. Including a photo with the application is recommended.
Names of those chosen for interviews will be posted on the UB office door Tuesday evening. Students may set up interview times for the following week by signing up in the office.

AWS executive member
applications due Friday at noon
The Association of Women Students is accepting applications for executive members until noon Friday in the counseling services department, located in Keeny Hall, Room 310.
All female undergraduate students are automatically members of AWS.
Dues of 50 cents are deducted quarterly during fee payment.
AWS provides opportunities for women students to advance in leadership skills and celebrates diversity by supporting multicultural interaction among women students.
It also promotes social, professional and educational networking among women.

Cafeteria announces new
hours and prices for fall quarter
The cafeteria hours have changed for the fall quarter.
Monday through Thursday the cafeteria will be open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The cafeteria will be open Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On Saturday and Sunday the cafeteria will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Students on a meal plan must show and swipe their Tech ID.
Breakfast is $5.25, lunch is $5.75 and dinner is $6.
The cafeteria is located in the Student Center, next to Chick-Fil-A.

Louisiana Center for the Blind
seeks volunteers for students
The Louisiana Center for the Blind, located at 101 South Trenton Street, is looking for volunteers.
Blind residents are in need of driver escorts.
Volunteer drivers will assist in personal errands such as going to the grocery store.
In addition to drivers, the center needs readers.
Readers are needed to read residents' mail, schoolwork and other reading material for those residents attending Tech.
All volunteering is hired on an individual basis for a particular resident.
Volunteers are placed on a list and called at random.

Six Flags over Texas tickets
available in the Bookstore
The Bookstore is selling discounted tickets to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington.
Tickets are available for the following days: Saturday and October 8, 9 and 10.
The tickets are $15, which saves students up to $30.
