Celebrate this Fourth of July as any red-blooded American would: watching fireworks, of course

Celebrate this Fourth of July as any red-blooded American would: watching fireworks, of course. With an annual fireworks display over the water, Lake Charles turns this holiday into a non-stop, all-day event. Have some fun spending the afternoon water skiing, swimming and fishing, and anchor as the sun goes down just in time to catch the fireworks.

Don't forget to take a moment or two to salute soldiers and veterans through Lake Charles' festivities of patriotic music, prayer and a parade. Check out the Veteran's Memorial Park on the river which pays tribute to contributors for American freedom.

If you'd rather dock instead of anchor, find a seat on the seawall near the Lake Charles Civic Center. But don't forget your sunscreen or your beautiful voice, because you'll probably joining in some patriotic tunes.
